He survived Stalin but was ousted from power by Khrushchev in the late fifties. However, by then, "ouster from power" did not take the same form as it did in Stalin's day, and so the Soviet Union's most famous bartender survived in obscurity. By the eighties, and now an old man, he made it back into the Soviet Encyclopedia. Unfortunately, he only lived to 96, about five years short of seeing the USSR crumble.
Molotov's wife is another interesting case.
