Perry is right.
Mitt should release tax records.
Obama should release all records.
I suppose we know now at least one reason McCain might have rejected Romney as VP mate in 2008.
Straight out of the Obama / DNC talking points.
Perry should shut up and stop being a back seat driver.
Perry should say, “It’s Romney’s call” and that is the truth.
There is NO reason for Mitt Romney to release anything. If someone wants to know about Bain, that is probably public. Obama is trying to rope Romney in with the assistance of Perry, Barbour, et al. When Obama publishes EVERYTHING, which is by now all scrubbed and redone anyway, than maybe Romney could release his own college records. Anything with his wife’s name on it should not be considered fair game.
Do you think the IRS failed to audit him?
Do you suspect he committed tax fraud?
Or do you think maybe this is part of obama’s class envy war? Do you think Romney's releasing tax records will end it? Or play into it?
Do you think Romney is too rich to get elected?
Is income honestly earned and wealth honesty built a disqualifier in this election?
Is that in the US Constitution?
Personally I think Romney should release ONLY past 2 yrs of tax returns, his tax returns from his time as Gov of Massachusetts since he was a public servant then, his birth certificate to prove his Constitutional eligibility to by US president, and his school transcripts from kindergarten through law school to prove his academic achievements.
Then refuse any further comment on those publicly posted records
Game On.
Perry should realize his great state of Texas is turning into a battleground state as HE oversees the conquest.
New York went for Reagan. Now a pro life republican can’t even get on a republican ticket in NY.
It can happen and it is happening.
Obama is playing 60 second prime time network spots in July in Texas and often.
Perry is an idiot.
IMHO, Governor Romney should offer this deal:
“I will release 10 years of my tax returns the day AFTER President Obama “un-seals” ALL the official records he has ordered “sealed”. Those 10 years of copies of my tax returns are already boxed up and ready to go.
I am making this offer because I believe that American voters have a right to know about whatever it is in his past that President Obama is trying so hard to keep secret from us.
Did he flunk Economics in college? Well, we could have guessed that.
Did he receive a preferential college scholarship because he claimed — falsely — to be a “foreign” student? Many people think so.
Was he a drug-pusher as well as a drug-user in college? You know, selling drugs is a felony. A REAL felony. Is THAT Obama’s big secret?
For the record, I am willing to open up 10 years of my tax returns — provided that President Obama actually does open up his own super-secret files. Let me be clear: A promise to “un-seal” whatever he has hidden on some day in the far, far future is unacceptable. A partial release now of some carefully selected records is unacceptable. Americans have grown tired of hearing one self-serving “story” after another. It is time to learn the whole truth.
So, President Obama, when may I expect your acceptance of this good-faith offer of MUTUAL disclosure?”
The Washington Post runs an extensive comments operation on almost all its news stories. One of the best things about their site is that it is only lightly monitored although they have a robo-editor that snags all the nasty words. Today their comments on just one story ~ about Republican concern about Mitt not releasing tax records ~ is rapidly rising toward 5,000 comments ~ see: http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/with-or-without-tax-return-release-pressure-on-romney-ramps-up-from-both-sides/2012/07/17/gJQAbuuBsW_story.html?hpid=z3 And they aren’t all Conservatives and Leftwingtards either.
