With Senate Democrats again pushing legislation to require forced donor disclosure by non-profit organizations, its more important than ever to understand the campaign of intimidation being conducted against the only significant public policy organization on the left or right that has disclosed a large number of donors. Its the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and as Ive previously written, the campaign against ALEC shows what the DISCLOSE Act is really about.
American Commitment has obtained a copy of a letter that was sent by Color of Change, the racial grievance group founded by self-proclaimed communist and disgraced former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones, that was been sent to at least 40 companies who are publicly disclosed ALEC sponsors. The letter, included below in its entirety, can only be described as a shakedown. It includes links to produced radio spots attacking the target companies and tying them to the Trayvon Martin tragedy. This is being deployed as an excuse to shut up a key free market voice. One organizer admitted it, saying: The Trayvon Martin thing was like a gift.

The list, Ping

It would be interesting to know who at ALEC was responsible for the decision to release the donors names, and why. It seems to me as inevitable with their track record the DNC, or other Leftists would turn such information into a weapon to beat their opposition with.
It would be just as interesting, if not more so, to know why ColorOfChange, a race-baiting, race-war promoting organization isn't similarly obligated to reveal their donors, large and small, including whatever laundered funds originate at either Soros or the Obama official site.
Incidentally, is there a reason that the extortion letter can't be duplicated on FR?
It appears that the race baiters are fighting voter ID and "Stand your ground" laws nationwide.
I never thought I'd see the day when organizations representing racist criminals would openly and blatantly attack 85% of the population.
