"The U.S. Navy's new class of carriers will be the first to go without urinals, a decision made in part to give the service flexibility in accommodating female sailors, the Navy says.
The change heralded by the Gerald R. Ford class of carriers starting with the namesake carrier due in late 2015.
Omitting urinals lets the Navy easily switch the designation of any restroom or head, in naval parlance from male to female, or vice versa, helping the ship adapt to changing crew compositions over time.
Heads will be attached to berthing compartments. Currently, many sailors have to traverse a passageway between a berthing and a head.
Urinal drain pipes clog more than toilets and therefore can be smellier and costlier to maintain."
Poor Gerald Ford. Still can't get any respect. These new class of carriers should have Obama's name on every 'head.' Navy vet here just shaking his head - the one on my shoulders.

I have thought of that too, however a lot of women admit to hovering, so I expect that’s a lot of it. And one time I saw shoe prints on the seat so some must squat on the seat to avoid sitting on it. It seems that if you are so concerned about your hiney, you should have the grace to wipe the seat down after you’re finished.
I’ve thought of that. Do they insist they take some sort of birth control that makes menstruation cease? I’m being serious. You would not want to deal with it in the field. It’s bad enough when you’re camping or even just traveling.
With all of the diseases out there... I avoid public restrooms when at all possible. They also make Clorox wipes and Lysol in small pocket sized containers. Like my pappy used to tell me... “Boy... you do not know where that booty has been”! ;-)

What part of your body are you touching the toilet seat with?! ;)
Anit gravity butt boots! ;-)

WTF is it with women and toilet seats? Just put one of those paper thingies on the seat and sit down, already!
I don’t think so. I’ve heard that they fly them out periodically for hygiene purposes. We’ve airlifted grunts who were out in the field for weeks and they are just caked in mud and smelled like a farm. The politicians don’t think to worry about such issues.
What a disgrace!!! Sickening. What are women doing on an aircraft carrier anyway? Liberals will f up everything they get their grubby little paws on
Lovely language. I don’t know why they hover. Even without a paper thingie, they are not going to catch anything unless they are doing some strange gymnastics, and probably not even then. However, it’s unpleasant to sit on a wet seat, and the paper thingies don’t help a bit with that. So, I routinely wipe the seat, just in case. If we didn’t have hoverers and whatever else it wouldn’t be necessary.
Yikes, wouldn’t that get expensive? Monthly airlifts? Weird.
They wasted money modifying all the ships. What’s a few bucks more. The general public never see the waste.
Yeah, and therein lies the problem. If we all had to go every day and anti up our share for each stupid idea, even if it was a little bit of money at a time, I bet this nonsense would be stopped muy pronto.
