The Death Penalty is the best thing that ever happened to SMU, it’s a great school now, the death penalty forced them to focus on what really matters.
I will say that, there is one huge difference between SMU and Penn State. Shutting down SMU football had minimal impact on the Dallas economy, shutting down PSU football will devastate the Happy Valley economy.
And that is a very, very, good thing. Because covering up an evil of this type needs to serve as an abject lesson.
