Lighten up, all of you. I mean no disrespect to the victims or anything. I’m just sick of the whole god-damned thing. I just spent a week at PSU. All of the people I spoke to are as sick of the media as they are Sandusky and all his enablers. Like me, they love Paterno for everything else he did for the university and are completely saddened and angered by his role in this whole sordid business. We all want this whole thing to go away. If taking down the statue will hasten that, so be it. If it will lessen the pain to the victims and their families by one minute, then do it. Let’s not forget, there’s lots of blame to go around here, starting with the victims’ so-called parents. All I hear is, “Where was Paterno?” I haven’t heard anyone say, “Where were their mothers? Their fathers?” Huh?

“Like me, they love Paterno for everything else he did”

Hitler was a decent painter, and he did design those cool SS uniforms....

Sandusky preyed on boys from broken homes and dysfunctional families as a M.O., just as any clinical predator does. There is an old saying that it just takes one Oh Sh!t to sink a whole boatload of atta-boys and this one sunk the whole friggin PSU navy (Rhetorically speaking). I couldn’t care less if Paterno gave birth to God himself, there is absolutely no justification or absolution because of his so-called good works to condone what he did for so long for the good of the fargin university, I mean the golden goose football program.

Don't blame the freepers, blame your false idol, Joe Pa.

He was no hero. I was a de facto coconspirator and enabler. His statue should be pulled down like those of other monsters more concerned with ego and self-agrandizement than than right and wrong.

You have got to be kidding!

Do you really think that Sandusky chose kids from strong families? Of Course not he grabbed troubled boys he thought he could turn into his girlfriend or found single mom's who thought the defensive coach at Penn State was an excellent role model.

Then when they realized something was going on the big cover up began. How is a down and out single mother supposed to fight big Joe and Sandusky?

yeah that's the point the Defensive coordinator was running through as many boys as he could get his hands on and Joe let him do it. Joe deserves the disgrace he got. His statue should be gone.

The football program has to be shut down because that's why they were trying to sweep it all under the rug. They must do everything to protect the program. Who cares about a few troubled teens just collateral damage to Penn State fans.

The mother's tried telling them but no one listened to them.

After all, who would think that Paterno would allow a child molester to roam around on campus.

Who knew that every adult who knew would keep quiet, even the gutless janitors who were more afraid of losing their jobs then telling the truth.

What a culture you guys got down there!

And many of these children came from broken homes.
