In a purely tactical sense, Romney is going to keep his powder dry until after Labor Day.

His magazines are being hit with incendiary rounds... Labor Day will come and go but mitt and the myth of his future attack will pass as non events. The time to COUNTER ATTACK is when one is BEING attacked.

Agree. He’s going to be short and direct, but save the Haymakers for the later innings of the game.

Keeping powder dry. SOP for the GOP. McCain still had quite a bit of powder left after he lost to Zero. Turns out he was saving it to savage a conservative primary challenger. Now that’s keeping it dry!

Others have said it: The time for firing your weapons is when you are under attack. By “keeping his powder dry,” Romney is allowing Zero to freeze him and demonize him. As Palin says, that bell can’t be unrung.

If Romney is being clever by not answering attacks, he’s being too clever by half. And he will lose.

If he does that he will have already been defined by his opposition.
