We know that President Obamas class-warfare agenda is bad economic policy. We know high tax rates undermine competitiveness. And we know tax increases will lead to even more wasteful and destructive government spending.
But analytical arguments wont necessarily bring us victory. Lets also mock the Presidents divisive agenda with some amusing cartoons.
Our first contribution comes from Lisa Benson. This cartoon sort of reminds me of this Chuck Asay gem, presumably because of an engine that is overburdened by bad government policy.
You can find some of my favorite Benson cartoons here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Next we have one from Michael Ramirez. Hes used elements of this theme before, as you can see here and here.
More Ramirez gems can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Our next contribution comes from Henry Payne. Im not even sure why I like it, but I do.
More clever Payne cartoons can be seen here, here, here, here, and here.
Last but not least, we have one from Jerry Holbert.
This last one isnt specifically about class warfare, but I liked it so it earned its way into this post. Holbert is new to me, but this is a good introduction.
Now lets take this opportunity to discuss one serious point. Obama presumably wouldnt be pursuing a spiteful tax agenda if he didnt think it was a political winner. Is it possible notwithstanding the title of this post that hes right?
Ezra Klein makes that case in a column for Bloomberg.
At this point he could go on a Kahlua at the bar screaming rage and we still wouldn't see him to the door!
How much more does it take? He's not on America's side, he IS the enemy!
He’s not one of us.
I am still trying to figure out his talking points:
1. Fair share = tax the rich (100% confidence level)
2. Fair shot = if you are not white, move to the front of the line (80%)
3. Play by the same set of rules = do what I say (90%)
I am still trying to figure out why anybody who has big bucks would donate to someone who promises to take those big bucks away.
What is the secret to that.?
What is hidden in this package?
Of course they bumble it because first and foremost they are racists and are uncomfortable now trying to strip their own wealth.
Condo hit the nail on the head when she said the narrative coming from this administration is “people are doing poorly because others are succeeding”.
Folks like Warren Buffet don’t make their dough from “income” like us normal folks.
They profit from crony capitalism.
Obama refused to build a pipeline, Buffet’s railroad line gets to carry the crude in tank cars, etc.
