Actually, I think going on the offensive against Obama about his undisclosed information is a good way to combat attacks from Obama about Romney’s information.
I think that Romney saying, “I owned Bain Capital when they did all these things, but I wasn’t involved on a day-by-day basis.” is not a satisfying answer.
It is very easy to caricature it. Also, there’s no way that an owner of a business doesn’t have some kind of activity involving that business. Once that activity is uncovered and disclosed it will be bad for Romney EVEN IF it was not at the level of day-to-day operations.
Since Bain has been solid in its support of democrats and Obama in past elections, then there is a real danger that the democratic supporters in that company will find some piece of paper with Romney’s signature on it authorizing something....the purchase of supplies, a change of vendors, something, anything.

I think I’d also hit him on cronies at Solyndra and other places who got huge cash infusions and then declared bankruptcy. IOW, point out Obama’s questionable ties when Romney is hit with questionable ties.

I own stock in companies and have zero influence on their management. That’s typical. Many owners are hands-off. Romney was.
It’s easy for a crypto-marxist Alinskyite to caricature it amongst people who don’t understand how business work, granted.
But Romney has answered it honestly and the media to their credit are in some cases calling out Obama’s distortions and lies on this.
Yes, there is a silver lining that Obama’s demagoguery is backfiring in hisfundraising. If he was smart Obama would have made this bashing his ‘october surprise’ after he raked in millions from hedge funds etc. Obama may have jumped the gun and expended his ammo too soon. Romney had these issues come up in January and he defended and deflected them. not perfectly, but he is getting innoculated from further attacks as he explains and defends his record.
