Anything direct from Mittens can be ignored right away. Case and point, he was bashing Newt for offering amnesty to a particular group of people. After Obama’s immigration thing, he jumped on Rubio’s dream act and said that young immigrants who came in “no fault of their own” should have a permanent solution (amnesty). Right now, I think Mittens said something about giving amnesty to illegal aliens who are in the military. It’s a freakin mess, I say.
We can’t even trust him on stimulus, TARP, or even on the size of the debt and the need to make radical cuts. He has no actual plan for it, and he’s been on both sides of every issue on it. The only thing we can be sure of is that he’ll lie to us, and that he’s lied before, to our faces, on live tv, and then demands our respect and adoration.
If conservatism involves an end of rational thinking, then I guess conservatism has left me and is now dead. Jeff Nyquist wrote that the Tea Party could be a manifestation of one of two different possibilities. Either it is a legitimate reform movement and an awakening, or it is a last gasp of a culture about to die. Based on your posts, I’d say it is the latter. And that’s a nightmarish thought for the future.

“His health-care bill is unhealthy for America. It raises taxes, slashes the more private side of Medicare, installs price controls, and puts a new federal bureaucracy in charge of health care. It will create a new entitlement even as the ones we already have are bankrupt. For these reasons and more, the act should be repealed. That campaign begins today.”
