When the Roundtable discussion on ABC's This Week Sunday predictably turned to who Mitt Romney should pick as his running mate if he seals the Republican presidential nomination, former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones made an interesting observation.
"You want to do something bold, put Condoleezza Rice on the ticket and watch the Obama campaign go crazy" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

I agree. If prominent Obama supporters are backing Rice, then you know that she’s not a good choice for Romney.
Did you stop reading the thread at that reply or did you see my following replies on the thread?
I see now you were being sarcastic. But still, I want to emphasize there is a world of difference between West and Keyes. Also, sarcasm aside, I don’t support West because he’s a black conservative. I support West for the VP slot because he’s in the top 10 conservatives in America today. Maybe top 5.
Supporting West is absolutely NOT identity politics, as opposed to Rice, which is ONLY identity politics. There’s nothing else there.
So really, your original comment, even if sarcastic, is unfair. Unfair to West, who is NOT the poster boy for identity politics. Not at all.
I think West would be a winner for Romney and a winner for America and a winner for freedom and liberty, not just in America but around the world. And it has f*-all to do with the pigmentation of his skin.
But Romney’s the wrong gender to call on West. Romney’s too much of a little girl.
Either way, he doesn't have hardly any political experience when we need just that. There are at least half a dozen or more experienced people who could fill the VP role from governors and former governors to Senators and Representatives (both present and former) with more than just one term under their belts.
Just my opinion.
I understand what you’re saying about the perception of race and the issue of experience.
Nevertheless, he’s my personal choice. I think he has a zero chance of being offered the position so there’s not much point in me or anyone else pushing him, but as you say, we’re just talking opinions here and my opinion is:
Wow! If Romney REALLY wanted to shake things up, while at the same time doing a great thing for America, he’d offer West the spot (and I assume West would accept it).
And BTW, I’d like to point out to you that experience isn’t everything. Guts and clear thinking in this time of great adversity are much more important, in my opinion.
And remember, West would only be VP, not P. Plenty of time to gain experience in that post. He’s already got 10,000 times the guts, and 100,000 times the clear thinking of the average Republican Pol.
She could square off against Michelle Obama for an epic, stank-eye scowlathon.
Yep, Van Jones is always looking out for us!
Condi Rice and Van Jones are in different parties, but they are both working for the same goal: Global Godless tyranny.
