Here in the New York City area some graduate departments have opened entire centers to these studies. Of course, the South has always been the preserver of conservative values, so Congressman Landry is acting as a good southern gentleman. For up here, I can only hope such goes out of style. There is such a push to "queer this" and "queer that" - queering the church, queering elementary education, even - it is likely creating a bunch of silly administrator positions unless Providence puts an end to it. - I am afraid Academia is simply not what it used to be . . . and that's an understatement.
