Remember the last time we had a compressed primary season over just a few weeks? It was all over by Super Tuesday (first Tuesday in February) and we were stuck with McCain.

This time, we at least had a contest until the end of March. I think the bigger problem is on how the delegates are allocated: too much emphasis on population and too little on states which actually deliver electoral votes to the GOP candidate. DC should get fewer delegates than American Samoa. And no way should California get more delegates than Texas.

Good points.

My one to two weeks was a little much. However, the primary season is just too damned long. I truly believe it is by design, to our detriment.
