House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that Mitt Romney made a "calculated move" to get booed during his address earlier in the day before the NAACP.
I think it was a calculated move on his part to get booed at the NAACP convention," she told Bloomberg TV.
Members of the civil rights organization booed Romney when he vowed to repeal President Obama's signature health care law.
Romney said earlier in the day that he "expected" a negative reaction to his speech, which NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said included positions "antithetical" to the interests of the civil rights organization.

If Mitt was really this crafty the dems would be in a
panic...well, I am seeing signs of that.
Double header here ~ he’s not that smart, and she’s paranoid.
It doesn’t take a lot of smarts to realize that promising to dump Obama’s singular achievement would draw a negative response from them.
I'm no Romney fan, but he appeared to deal with the catcalls graciously and handled the situation well from the clips shown on FOX.
If it was a 'setup', he played it to his advantage.
He told them he could help them get jobs, and they freaked out at the prospect of being able to go to work. I’m not sure he expected that reaction.
Come to the next Tea Party if you want to see some real booing you mannequin from hell.

SanFranNan strikes a-gan!
um... I don’t think it would be wise to underestimate the intelligence of someone worth 100’s of millions of dollars.
I have never underestimated Romney’s intelligence, only his conservatism.
I agree with your comments. And I think Pelosi thinks so as well - which is why she and other libs are trying so hard to spin it backwards.
Here’s a video of the speech for those who wish:

He went into the lion’s den and didn’t pander but gave them straight talk why they would be better off electing him than Obama.
It showed guts, conviction and honesty.
Obama has chosen not to speak to the same crowd.
Romney Receives Standing Ovation for Straight Talk at NAACP Convention

Romneys speech made it clear he wasnt at the NAACP convention to pander or preach at the audience. He simply presented a slew of facts and straight talk. Some topics he touched on, like repealing ObamaCare, received boos, but overall Romney received applause throughout his speech and it was reported by NBC that many in the audience gave Romney standing applause at the end of his remarks. It was clear he had a positive impact although the media will choose to focus only on the opposition to his remarks.
Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Cleaver said Romney should not have criticized President Obama in front of a black audience but dispproved of audience booing.

When he finished speaking he got a standing ovation from about half the audience. I think they respected him for showing up. Don’t know if that will translate to any votes, but really he had nothing to lose.
Funny this, as Obama is sending Biden in to do his bidding. Maybe he is racist and should be called out on it.
Did you mean to say "the prospect of having to work"?
People joke about this, but the NAACP proves that there's more than a little truth to it.
I think he slipped a couple of cogs.
