Of course the participation and communication of parents and teachers is important
There was no such thing as a charter school where and when I went to school. We had 40 kids to a classroom and buildings from the 30s built by the WPA and falling apart.
I think they have charter schools in every district and they have waiting lists because there are enough who do want an education that can’t get it with the thugs.
I don’t feel sorry for the kid who won’t / can’t learn. I feel sorry for the kid who is trying to learn and is neglected because of time wasted on kids that are wasted.
Again, nothing will change until there are serious consequences for failure. The pseudo poverty we have now isn’t serious enough. It just creates more dependents.
In the 30’s kids saw other kids go hungry and turn into sticks and get sick and die. The survivors swore they would not let that happen to them or their own. It just scared the hell out of them.
