This goes with the fundamentalists in Mali who have, ironically enough, destroyed Sufi monuments. Of course, they will kill Sufi of either Sunni or Shia persuasions. They are the moderate Muslims everyone pins their hopes on. Lots of luck.
Seems like it is getting harder and harder to find those moderate muslims that we keep hearing about.
Sufi tend to be introspective and spiritually focused, not rabid actors-out. Which is viewed by the mad jihadists as being unfaithful.
I think I heard something today about people (Christians?) in Nigeria destroying tombs in Muslim cemetaries.
