Yep, exactly so. Hey, isn’t it awesome that states like Oregon now have an assisted suicide law - people can help you kill yourself, legally too!

It’s like they had this plan all along.

“I’d bet money, at least 40 percent of people posting here are on the tax paid government welfare teet.”

Why do you think so many are defending their social security checks? Government assistance is ok, apparently.

Hmm ~ could be. Maybe not. The key argument in the article is that 50% of households have somebody on government funding.

So, how big is a household?

You cannot draw the conclusion that half the country is on the dole based on that sort of contention.

Like to add just to be brutally frank if you use the government's money (as opposed to gold dust and silver shavings) you are certainly tightly wrapped around ol'mother government fur shur.

That's nearly 100% ~ not just 50%.

Funny, how after corrupt, bloated evil government looted Social Security, people like you run out here claiming Social Security is now suddenly welfare.

I find that and you very suspect...

The federal government has had essentially no growth for the last 50 years (in terms of employment).

If you laid them off and started with the Generals and research scientists I'm sure the private sector could find jobs for that crowd pretty quick.

Most proposals have been to start with the janitors though, or the retirees! (which is just hilarious).

Did you know you could fire 100% of all the federal employees and that wouldn't put a dent in the deficit.

One big chunk of the national debt consists of money owed to Social Security.

The folks who want to get rid of Social Security imagine that the government can simply cancel the system and that debt will disappear.

Which, of course, is nonsense. What would more likely happen (in this very theoretical situation) is the people to whom it is owed would demand a refund (so you'd have to pay all of it back right now), or there'd be violence of a very selective sort ~

We are stuck with the debt, payments will be made, Congress will live to see another day.

Hmm ~ I don't like the guy; you don't like the guy; even his wife thinks he stinks.

On the other hand the Democrats love Romney ~ which is why he will lose.

I know of a couple with two kids, that once BOTH had jobs. He an admin of some sort and she an RN. They slowly became addicted to gambling of any form, mostly video games and VFW bingo, etc.

Round about the time when Obama became elected, both of them ‘lost’ their jobs. Their daughter supposedly has epilepsy and is on SSI/DI I guess (she never worked). Neither of them still has a job although I’ll be damned if I can figure out how an RN can’t get a job.

Both of them are complete slobs, on UIC, getting disability money for their daughter. If you could take a gander at their wallets, there’s likely EBT and SNAP documentation there. Their car is adorned with Obama sticker.

I listen to them occasionally, they complain how tough it is for them, yet put $20 bills in the video games consistently. They can’t scratch up a hundred dollars between them, yet they can gamble. Overheard the wife the other day - their home airconditioner broke down and they didn’t have enough to repair it - they went and bought three $60 window airconditioners and are dumb enough to claim “the electric bill is less.” They know their house looks like white trash central but don’t care. Their likely unrepossessed PT Cruiser has two completely bald front tires. In short they are leeching, disgusting sloths.

They will NEVER go back to work because all they do is show up in what looks like the clothes they slept in and gamble each morning. They then proceed to make their ‘rounds’. If I knew where to call, I’d drop a dime on them with whoever is responsible for making sure the daughter with epilepsy is being taken care of with the money we give them.

There is no value added with these two. I’m afraid their type outnumber the legitimately needy people who don’t intend to be leeches.

Romney will win because this is not about loving Romney, but hating Obama’s policies. In 2010, majority voted against Obama and in 2012 will be same thing. No one is going to switch to Obama and more Independents will vote against him.

I would vote for a Mark Levin book as it has more spine than a Republican, but the ballot is Mitt or Barack.

I heard Democrats tell us that this is not about loving the Hump, but hating Nixon's policies.

The Hump then lost in a staggering Nixonian runaway, and 4 years later Nixon once again beat the hapless George McGovern and old what's his name ~ Shriver. I mean it was incredible, and the Dems assured everybody Nixon was a crook, had evil things in mind, would keep on running the war ~ oh he was awful.

They told us we didnt' have to love McGovern to agree with him.

The public ignored the propagandists.

You must be too young to remember 1968. It was a close election, and we didn't know until the next day that Nixon had won. It wasn't a runaway.

You think Obama will win, fine, we disagree. The choice is Romney or Obama, we cannot change that. Done. Like them, hate them, matters not. This is the choice. I believe 2010 was the beginning, not the end.
