LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brad Pitt has long been an advocate for gay rights (initially vowing to hold off on marrying longtime love Angelina Jolie until gay marriage became legal nationwide), but his mother, Jane Pitt, apparently takes a different stance on the issue.
In a letter penned for her local newspaper, Jane urged Christian voters not to be put off by candidate Mitt Romneys Mormon faith, as he still maintains conservative views in line with Christian beliefs despite his differing religion including his posture on gay marriage and abortion.
I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon, she wrote in the opinion piece for The Springfield News-Leader this week.
Jane added that any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romneys opponent, Barack Hussein Obama a man who sat in Jeremiah Wrights church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.
While the letter may seem harsh to some, Brad has previously said his mother means no harm.
Shes very, very loving very open, genuine, and its hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil, he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview back in January. Theres not an ounce of malice in her.
She wants everyone to be happy, the actor noted.
Was Pitt adopted? What happened to him?
I wonder what are the chances that she could get a spot at the Convention to make a speech?
He was presented with the very same choice every successful actor or musician is today.
“Join the cause or find a new line of work”.
It really is that simple in the entertainment biz. When a high percentage of people in the business are either gay themselves or related to someone who is, thou shalt not speak against the pink mafia.
I don’t think Pitt is adopted. I think money and fame mean more to him than how he was raised.
“Wow!! What a shocker. Sounds like a very committed, Christian lady.”
That isn’t how I read it. I see someone who is ABO. Mr. Romney has already said he WILL NOT help reinstate DADT. He has a shaky history on opposition to the Homosexual Agenda. Although, just about anyone would be better than Mr. Obama, I don’t see that Romney is the answer.
I WILL NOT support him...period. He “might” be better for the economy than Mr. Obama, but that is the full extent of Mr. Romney’s worth. So, voting for him IS NOT an option for a TRUE conservative...especially one that claims to be a “Moral/Social” one. That is my opinion. As a moral/social conservative, I cannot vote for Romney anymore than I can obama.
That’s fine. Follow your convictions. I just hope you live in a solid Red State or a solid Blue State. I hope that you do NOT live in a battleground State where your non-vote would matter.
I don’t care what she thinks anymore than I care what he thinks.
“I hope that you do NOT live in a battleground State where your non-vote would matter.”
DO NOT START that ABO crowd NONSENSE that “NOT VOTING FOR ROMNEY IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA.” It is NOT. That line of arguement is NOT welcome here on FR. You can be ABO, but busting the chops of those that won’t drink that Romney cyanide koolaid is NOT cool. Take it elsewhere.
IF you don’t believe me, then tell Jim Robinson he is “voting for Obama” for refusing to vote for Romney...you will get booted. Don’t push is sparky.
PS on you page you post “I am a Ronald Reagan style Republican who votes morality over money.” (I agree with this sentiment strongly)
You WILL NOT get morality from a mormon cultist. You are just setting yourself up for worse (you are getting the devil in disguise). Also, Romney DOES NOT have a history of opposing homosexuality....on issues of “morality” he will be NO better than the dreaded Obama. Neighter Obama or Romney should be POTUS. You are, IMO, deluding yourself to think otherwise.
Vote for Romney and you ruin ANY chance of ever getting another Ronald Reagan as the GOP nominee. You are being a sheep for the GOPe which doesn’t give a rip what we moral conservatives think. They have lied to us for years. Don’t help them continue to do so.
IF you dont believe me, then tell Jim Robinson he is voting for Obama for refusing to vote for Romney...you will get booted. Dont push is sparky.

Don’t threaten me punk unless you want to see a friggin’ lawsuit against Free Republic for censorship and violation of my First Amendment Rights. Now, you want to pursue this? Bring it on!!!
ping for popcorn
Jane Pitt,meet Emmanuel Goldstein.
That took so much courage. I was thinking about Carrie Underwood and her statement in support of homosexual “marriage”. She was a coward who took the easy way out. If she had come out against it, her career would likely have been over and she would have been persecuted mercilessly and made a mockery of until she disappeared.
You're a better man than I am. But then, if Churchill could suck up to Stalin, I guess I can vote for Romney.
You’re a better man than I am. But then, if Churchill could suck up to Stalin, I guess I can vote for Romney.
But when Churchill ran for re-election, he directly opposed Stalin and the Soviets and made no bones about it; and of course it cost him the election with a war-weary population that still tends to worship Marxist types to this day.
In short, you won’t be sucking up to Romney. You’ll just be doing your level best to remove a communist from power in the USA. And that is God’s work. Do it. (Churchill would.)
This is has posted at least three times in the last couple od days.
Yep, would be interesting indeed if the home of conservative discourse became a place where the first amendment died. No matter what you say, objectively, staying home, or voting write in, is a vote for obama.
Period, there is no logical disputation of that very unpleasant fact. Romney was my last choice, just before obama.
Vitriol only emphasizes the lack of logic in the position, IMO.
I think you’re putting too fine a point on it. He did what he had to do to accommodate a very evil man during a time of pressing need, and based on my reading of his remembrances, Roosevelt had nothing to do with it. However, “suck up” is undoubtedly too harsh a term, since it implies obsequiousness. Whatever the case, I would have done the same, assuming I were as perspicacious as Churchill at the time.
