Feds: Airlines Must Let Passengers Fly With Pigs for 'Emotional Support' By Elizabeth Harrington
(CNSNews.com) Pot-bellied pigs must be granted passage on airplanes if they are used for emotional support by their owners, states the Department of Transportations (DOT) draft manual on equity for the disabled in air travel.
The DOT published its Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability in Air Travel: Draft Technical Assistance Manual in the Federal Register on July 5, providing guidance that allows swine on airplanes if they are determined to be service animals.
The manual is designed to "help carriers and indirect carriers and their employees/contractors that provide services or facilities to passengers with disabilities, assist those passengers in accordance with" the Air Carrier Access Act. The manual open for public comments until Oct. 3.
Under the Service Animal section, the department lays out a scenario for airline carriers entitled Example 1.
The manual states: A passenger arrives at the gate accompanied by a pot-bellied pig. She claims that the pot-bellied pig is her service animal. What should you do?
Generally, you must permit a passenger with a disability to be accompanied by a service animal, reads the manual. However, if you have a reasonable basis for questioning whether the animal is a service animal, you may ask for some verification.

Anything that keeps muslims off airplanes works for me.
I always carry bacon bits, m’self...
Looks like anti-terror legislation to me.
Now watch muzzies react by bombing more aircraft or the HQ of the airlines because they are ‘offended’..
After some of the un-showered, obese slobs I’ve had seated next to me (and spilling into my seat), a pot-bellied pig next to me on a plane would be a welcome change.
What is that old saying? When pigs fly....?
Frankly, someone who needs a pig for emotional support shouldn’t be allowed to fly...with or without the pig.
As John of Patmos says in the Book of Revelation..."the Man of Sin/Son of Perdition will not be revealed until pigs fly..."
OK, Obama, now we've got you ID'd.

What if I said I have an anxiety disorder and need to carry a Sig Sauer 9mm for emotional support? After all, it’s a beautiful gun, I spent a lot of money on it, and holding it makes me happy!
I think the government should provide free emotional-support pigs.
Bump!
Keeping up with the rest of the country.
Observations from a guy in his 60’s...
I remember my college days where people competed to come up with the weirdest arguments just to test their debating skills. It seems that supporting goofy suppositions has been the norm ever since, political correctness being a prime example. Prior to the 60’s, rational thought and common sense held sway. Since then, the goofier the proposition, the more the zeitgeist attempted justify it. A culture as successful as the one we used to have provided so much leisure time that we lost all concept of that which is ultimately the most important, freedom, liberty and the rule of law. Most people alive today have never experienced anything other than “plenty”. They can’t imagine it’s absence.
We are experiencing the easiest existence ever enjoyed by man, the longest life expectancy, air-conditioned comfort, surplus food...and listen to us bitch.
...and, of course, the statists just see a need to control us for our own good.
Which brings to mind my favorite C.S. Lewis quote:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
OMG!
But #2 makes a good point.
Where is a miniature horse going to ... sit? ... on a packed airplane? And they won't let an emotional-support snake on, even though she wouldn't take up any room at all!
The sporting goods store in Courthouse is having something called a July gun sale.
Considering how close we live to the county jail I am thinking another shotgun might be useful.
What’s next? Miniature horses?
Personally...I really want to see a TSA “Piggy pat down”!
