The tax man cometh to police you on health care

The Supreme Court's decision to uphold most of President Barack Obama's health care law will come home to roost for most taxpayers in about 2 1/2 years, when they'll have to start providing proof on their tax returns that they have health insurance.

That scenario puts the Internal Revenue Service at the center of the debate, renewing questions about whether the agency is capable of policing the health care decisions of millions of people in the United States while also collecting the taxes needed to run the federal government.

Under the law, the IRS will provide tax breaks and incentives to help pay for health insurance and impose penalties on some people who don't buy coverage and on some businesses that don't offer it to employees.

The changes will require new regulations, forms and publications, new computer programs and a big new outreach program to explain it all to taxpayers and tax professionals. Businesses that don't claim an exemption will have to prove they offer health insurance to employees.

The health care law "includes the largest set of tax law changes in more than 20 years," according to the Treasury inspector general who oversees the IRS. The agency will have to hire thousands of workers to manage it, requiring significant budget increases that already are being targeted by congressional Republicans determined to dismantle the president's signature initiative.

It's up to us to support Romney and kill this ObamaCare totally. Fire all that were hired to enforce it and introduce meaningful legislation like allowing Insurance companies to cross State lines. There are reform such as frivolous suites against doctors and all medical associated class action should be outlawed.

Whether it's a “Penalty” or a “Tax” is immaterial. Chief Justice Roberts decision has given the public an avenue to have Congress be responsible for the continued use of the law, overturn the law, or amend the provisions of the law. A far cry from having the court rule that the Commerce Clause was used correctly in this case. We would have been married to it and other laws the Dumbocrats would have come up with. It's totally up to the public what program is going to be used and how. And that's the scary part. The general public hasn't got a clue as to what's going on in congress. They listen to the talking heads and think they are experts when the exact opposite is true.

The Obozo, Reid, Pelosi Galore health plan is how the Rats will take care of the unemployment problem.

Every unemployed rat with a degree will go to work for the IRS and State tax thugs to make sure we pay our taxes.

Every unemployed rat without a degree will help administer/ration the health care we will be paying for, to keep us from getting it.

The elite rats will be in charge of both of the above groups. There will be thousands of new and highly paid Czars running the Obozo not that great health plan.

They can repeal this garbage as soon as the Chicago trash is cleaned out of the White House, but that is just a small step towards what is needed. We need a tax system that will eliminate the need for the IRS, be it a sales tax or a flat tax. Take away the agencies the federal government uses to terrorize the people.

I would go a step further and black list ANYONE who worked on, for or with this thing from ever holding any position with or in the federal government. They cannot be trusted as they are all too willing to enhance their own wealth via a position that exploits and fleeces citizens. They have no part in a republic.

Yes, however healthcare and insurance are too expensive. Americans cannot afford insurance in the brave new world. They will be lucky to afford the basics such as food, clothing and shelter.

Reps need to come up with a nice plan such as providing non emergency care where a Nurse or someone else trained to provide antibiotics for ear infections and colds and whatever other small things people fill emergency rooms with.

Big box buildings and strip malls are sitting empty and if the feds do not already own them they can pick them up dirt cheap.

I dunno all the details but they need to provide the masses with something that says we are trying.

Because the people and or the feds cannot afford insurance. The medical industry has priced itself out of a job if it was not for the games insurance and gov play in the mess.

Reps better have a plan but any sort of common sense healthcare instead of insurance is not being talked about. Thats more proof it is not about helping anyone with health. Its about controlling the people and forcing them to pay more taxes so gov.con can continue to enslave us.

My preliminary research says the hot setup is to become a Mennonite. They are exempt but can drive cars and operate machinery, unlike the Amish.

You do have to permanently opt out of SocSec & Medicare though, so for those of us with 40 yrs of “contributions” it’s not a good option.
