Most of us would be OK, for example, if California voted to go Communist so long as the rest of our states were left alone. I agree whole heatedly. Let California create their own version of hell on earth for themselves and themselves alone for all I care. Any virtuous Californian needs to make like Lot and leave while they still can.
Eventually when the corrupt people of that state hit bottom the state will reform itself.
Unfortunately, California will most likely receive a Federal bailout. States that fail pass their debt to all of us. . . now that's fair.
