They were meant to come, serve and go.

That's why they weren't paid and was the way it was designed. Everybody in Congress should serve one term and then leave.

Although I like the guy, 26 years is 24 too many.

Agreed, I like my congressman but I think they need to be limited.

He wasn’t a Congressman for 26 years. He served 5 terms — that is 10 years.

He had been an elected official for 26 yrs., not all of them were served in Congress. He was a great representative. He was my congressman, and my son interned in his district office. I’m very sorry to see him go. I wonder what will happen to his seat, if they’ll fill it.
