I then saute jalapenos in olive oil while grilling the burgers and use that as a condiment as opposed to ketchup, relish, etc., which I think are nasty to have on burgers. I also add a slab of good quality swiss cheese and when I'm feeling particularly hungry, a slab of bacon as well. Forgot about the tomato slice and lettuce - they detract from the burger - unless it's August-September and you pulled the tomato fresh out of a garden.
I like an Anheim pepper seasoned with Olive Oil Salt and pepper.
“Once you learn to cook a burger (or steak) on the grill at home, you will never go back.”
Indeed. We only stop when we’re pretty much starving or to treat my daughter for an A on a test. My homemade burgers are preferred, but I can’t match a Sonic Happy Hour drink.
My wife stuffs burgers with jalapenos and cheese, wraps them in bacon, and grills them with sweet peppers and onions. The whole shebang goes onto a grilled buttered bun with a slab of Kellogg's Breakfast tomato straight from the garden. You might be able to smell them come August if the wind is blowing your way from the north. :-)
