It's not the worst thing Bill Moyers has ever said or done, but, yes, it is a little shabby.

Tommy and Sally aside, it really is a lousy column, and Bill Moyers isn't the right person to write it, Moyers and LBJ having perhaps greater flaws or at least less excuse for them than Jefferson.

It's strange that Bill Moyers, who may want to be taken seriously, is writing for a website called smirkingchimp.com, and even stranger that there still is a smirkingchimp.com, long after that title lost relevance.

I guess the smirkingchimp team didn't want to spring for a new URL.

Yes I am not aware of T Jefferson being at least an accessory before and after a murder. LBJ certainly was. Evetts Hailey’s ‘A Texan Looks At Lyndon’ cites chapter and verse. Hailey was a good newspaperman and a very good local Texas historian.
