In 1977, Barack Hussein Obama II was a Permanent Resident Alien (Green card holder) living in Hawaii with his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. Madelyn Dunham had been appointed Obama’s guardian (foster mother) while he was in the legal custody of Catholic Social Services of Connecticut.

Why would Catholic Social Services of Connecticut have legal custody of The One?

The Catholic Social Services of CT was a contractor with US Dept of Health and Human Services in 1971. As an unaccompanied minor child with foreign citizenship, Barry Soetoro was taken into protective custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement when he arrived in Hawaii from Indonesia in 1971.

Barry was placed in the Federal Foster care program because he was a foreigner. Soon thereafter, Stanley Ann lost custody of Barry, the Soetoro adoption was annulled and Barry Soetoro became Barack Hussein Obama II, BHO Sr was returned as the paternal parent on BHO’s II HI COLB through a Court order, and Catholic Social Services of CT was named BHO’s II legal guardian.

Obama remained in the legal custody of Catholic Social Services of CT until his 18th birthday. At age 23, BHO II naturalized as a U.S. Citizen. Proof of Obama’s naturalization is with his Certificate of Naturalization with the USCIS.

Catholic Social Services offers services to immigrants (especially those from Africa) They offer migration and Refugee Services and assist immigrants who cannot pay for legal services.

They are especially known for their helping of Muslim Somalis in most recent years.
