I know I’m not perfect, but it was the best choice I ever made. Tell every young person you meet, that serving their country is one of the best choices in life they can make. 100X better than immediately going to college, which with the GI bill, get’s paid for, so when they decide to someday get a degree, it’s paid for, and they’re not saddled for life with student loans.
Some pay the ultimate price and never get to retire, go to college, or die as an old man. Well that is one of the reasons we can celebrate today, and there is great honor in that.
