Sounds like the Angels got there a little late. Don't understand your comment. Souls, post death of the body, still require protection from tormenting evil spirits.

Maybe the angels knew that the demons from hell where coming to collect the souls of the hijackers and they didn’t want the demons taking any parts of the innocent passangers.
