Wow! I’m glad last Friday’s storm passed us right by!
I’ll bet. Heard a news clip, some mayor or someone stating that the power not being restored for a week is not acceptable. I can only think, “Dumbass.” When lots of trees take down powerlines, that’s a mess and a half to clean up.

Did you hear the story about a two year old nearly drowning at a Best Western? That is right across from where I work. A good friend of mine was working the Best Western front desk when it happened.
It was very suspicous! The mother claims the two year old was stuck face down in the tub. When the mother couldn’t lift the child she went into another room and got a back brace but still couldn’t lift the child.
She claims she tried to hold the head sbove the water but couldn’t. Only then did she decide to drain the tub but she claims a rag was stuck in the drain.
Now hysterical she ran into the lobby where she confronted my friend.
My friend followed policy and couldn’t leave the desk but called for security. She then called for 911.
Meanwhile the guard a guest and the mother went to the room on the sixth floor but yhe mother had closed the door with the key inside. It took another couple of minutes to get in.
By this time the child had been without air for 15 minutes. The guard and guest, who may have been a doctor or nurse, administered cpr and the child started to breath. Medics rushed the child to Children’s hospital but word is the child is brain dead with near zero chance of recovery.
Meanwhile the mother is in jail facing several charges and could face murder if the child dies.
Tragic.

WTH?? That’s got either “idiot” or “premeditated” written all over it! How in the world would anyone that small “get stuck” in a tub? That one smells...

Yeah, stink is right. Even if it was an accident, she’s too dumb to have a kid. Poor little one. I hope, by some miracle, he survives and has a full recovery.
Dewpoint high today will be 75 - brudder isn’t happy, he has to work in that today... So thankful for my work situation. Pretty hard to beat.
Apparently, we just got a half an inch of rain in the last hour and a half. :o) Cooler air feels good but sure humid out there!
Yup the child is 32 pounds. Mother has changed her story. Meanwhile my friend is worried that while she followed policy she could have done more.
She’s the type of persson that always apologizes for everything, even thing beyond her control.
She’s also terrified about more police interviews and having to testify.
Her already troubled life has left her in a delicate mental state...after the death of her parents there was a lot of infighting, she lost her house, there was a fire where she stores things, her son is in the Navy and was on the Reagan near Fukushima and spent time in the middle east, her daughter is always fightingbwith her and her husband who is on disability ...ummm...she found out he likes to walk around in women’s underwear.
She turned to booze and gambling to escape. A lot of her friends have been helping her though and she’s much better but gets stressed out easily.
The job at the Best Western was perfect for her though and she really enjoyed it and talking with so many different people. This incident may change that.
No doubt, this was WAY out of her control. Especially when the idiot mother locks everyone out of the room, *especially* if the mother was coniving. All your friend needs to do is simply give the facts to the police and then hopefully she can “let go and let God” for her own sake. Will be praying for her and for the child.
Wonder what is going to be on tomorrow. Probably a best of. It would be cool if Jim and Rose put together a new special!

I was going to ask, everyone here off tomorrow? I imagine sneakers is. Sure looking forward to having Quinn and Rose back. (Not to take away from the subs.) We usually head to the lake with loads of other boaters to watch fireworks, but with having to get up early Thursday, I’m not sure I’ll go this year if others are doing so.
huh?! Wisconsin is 6th is in beer consumption. That’s all?? We’ve got to work on that...
I’m never off, LOL! Not planing on going to the fireworks because I try to get into bed by 7-8.
Yep, I have off! So does Mr S. His bank is closed. We’ll be working in the garden, doing some housecleaning, watching some “American Revolution”, and then a late picnic and fireworks.
I don’t care if the Won is trying to destroy our country, it’s still OUR COUNTRY and it’s worth celebrating!

I slept in today (off today and tomorrow). Today is my 30th wedding anniversary. Nothing special planned (thank you Obameconomics) but glad and thankful we got to this day (PaDad’s health).
