The federal health care law gives the states some options, and Florida is opting out.
Two portions of the Affordable Care Act are voluntary under the Supreme Courts recent ruling- Medicaid expansion and state-run insurance exchanges. Governor Rick Scott is joining a number of other Republican Governors in choosing not to implement these provisions.

The only good thing about the SCOTUS ruling was the overturning of the Medicaid mandate on the states. This will allow a de facto gutting of much of the program, and it also curtails the use of greenmail by the feds.
The giant sucking sound you hear is the exodus of the welfare class to New York, Vermont, or some other liberal hellhole that will actually pay for their Medicaid.
Many states are already groaning under their federally-mandated Medicaid obligations. As financially pressed as the states are, I could see where only a couple of small and hyper-liberal states such as Vermont or Hawaii would chose to take that path.

They know that anything that they start ranting on in Florida regarding the elected officials may very well backfire in this critical state.
They must have bite marks on their own tongues...
