Yes, I haven’t read the whole thing, but I think Roberts wrote this opinion on his own, after changing his position. And the four liberals signed on board because it gave them what they wanted, even if they would have written it differently.
I can only think of two explanations for what Roberts did.
1. Blackmail.
2. Seizure medications. (Suggested by Michael Savage.)
Or both.
I think you meant “caesar medications”.
There’s always chickening out.
BS! Savage is an idiot.
I have a nerve disorder and I take the same drugs as someone with epilepsy — Lyrica, Gabapentin, Tegretol, etc. Yes, It does make you groggy, and slow on the uptake at first - but you get used to them and after a while you are normal again. I can assure you it does not turn you into a liberal thinker.
Let's add # 3: an offer he couldn't refuse.
As for blackmail, one possibility is that whatever he was blackmailed about came from his FBI file, which could have been stolen by the Democrats in "Filegate" c. 1993. It's been reported that Bush 41 had been interested in appointing Roberts to a federal judgeship as far back as '92, so it's possible that the FBI routinely compiled a file on him as part of the standard vetting process.
