Former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum gave a signal to social conservatives on Saturday: Mitt Romney's "message is sound. It's solid."
On Saturday, Santorum's praise was warm.
"The concern I had - I did, I was very frank about it - was that Governor Romney would track to the middle as so many Republican candidates have done, but I'm not seeing that," Santorum said. "I'm seeing him stand by those convictions that he articulated in the primaries and I'm hopeful."

I’m not trying to be smart, but I’m not sure what you meant by your post to me. Clarification?
How about this......
If you see a driver with a “2012 OBAMA” bumper sticker on their car: Give the driver a “THUMBS DOWN” (Only if you can safely do so).
Got to give OBOTS a message “WE ARN”T GOING TO PUT UP WITH OBAMA’S BULL SH*T.”
Sorry, it’s not even sane, much less “mature and responsible” for a conservative to support a pro-choice democrat socialist gun-banner like Romney, any more than it would be sane or mature or responsible to support Barack Obama.
Both men have spent most of their adult lives strenuously working to destroy everything I believe in.
If you are deluded enough to think you will convince me or others like me to vote for Romney then I guess that explains why you are deluded enough to vote for him.
There are a number of people who flock to every political thread on FR these days who are actively campaigning for Obama.
They are beyond reason.
I tried to discuss this with the site owner on a thread earlier today but he wasn’t interested in talking about it.
I am sorry to see the potential of this site get squandered as it is but I don’t hold out much hope.
The irony is that FR was founded as a grassroots conservative activist site, this election is the greatest opportunity for grassroots conservative activism since Al Gore invented the internet, and yet FR is willfully taking itself right out of the game with the kind of rhetoric and “analysis” that is up and down this thread.
It is just a damn shame. That’s all I can say about it.
You are the one who said the “GOP-e” selected Romney as our candidate, when you know very well he won because he received the most votes during the primary, and because several of the other candidates dropped out of the race. And you accuse me of engaging in “fantasy”? Now that's rich.
You are an Obama Supporter, and that's what you shall be referred to.
Santorum endorsed Specter for President. Why wouldn’t he support Romney? He’s a weenie who has always been part of the problem, not a solution.
“If Romney is one thing, he IS a winner he turned the Olympics around and turned around many failing businesses.
And we hope he will turn around the current path to decline we are on, as a country.”
The real irony is that you don't know the difference between CONSERVATIVE grassroots activism and LIBERAL grassroots activism on behalf of a pro-choice democrat socialist.
YOU are an Obama Supporter, and that’s what you shall be referred to.
The proof? You sure aren’t on FR working to get votes for Mitt.
You exhibit no rationality or integrity whatsoever.
Opportunities for conservative grass-roots activism abound in America today and many people are seizing them.
Just not here on Free Republic.
Your candidate lost. Pout somewhere else.
More ignorance. Yours is only one vote, so I don’t care how you vote...just spare us your ignorance and bitterness.
That’s a real hoot coming from a Romney Republican.
Let’s imagine Romney wins, and we get the Senate. Let’s imagine a bill to repeal Obamacare lands on Romney’s desk. Will he sign it?
Now let’s imagine Obama is re-elected, but we get the Senate. A bill to repeal Obamacare lands on Obama’s desk. Will he sign it?
Let’s say that in each case, the bill does not pass by a large enough margin to override a veto.
I didn’t just bash Romney and I know full well the list of those that have endorsed him. Of course, they don’t have any reasonable option at this stage of the game.
My comment had to do with that POS Saintorum and you knew it.
What is funny is that I have never seen the Mitt haters explicitly answer this question "No", but they frequently imply that Obamacare repeal will not happen no matter what.
Is it really imaginable that a Pres. Romney would refuse to sign an Obamacare repeal after everything that has been said? Of course not. But that is what you are stuck with at least pretending to believe if you are a member in good standing of the FR He-Man Mitt Haters Club.
I wish more people on FR understood this.
We are grassroots conservative activists. And we do not push big government progressive abortionists.
