Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has raised more than $1 million this year in his bid for a sixth term.

The Republican remains far ahead of his opponents in fundraising and has $4.1 million on hand when his earlier contributions are factored in.

Democrat Paul Penzone’s campaign says it has raised $148,000 this year.

Independent Mike Stauffer’s campaign says it has raised more than $43,000 so far this year and much of the money came from Stauffer himself.

Democrat John Rowan’s campaign reports under $20,000 raised since January.

Arpaio received numerous donations from people living outside Arizona. Nearly all of Penzone’s contributions were made by Arizonans.

Arpaio was the only candidate to file a campaign report as of mid-afternoon Thursday.

Other candidates face a Monday deadline for reporting their fundraising.

No worries.
Arizonians love “Sheriff Joe”. They respect that he takes the hits and keeps on “hittin” back....

I have donated a few times - never large amounts because I don’t have much - and I live in Texas.

I support him because I think he sets an example for what I expect from someone in law enforcement. He is of my generation and is one of the few remaining who truly cares about the United States. I lived in Arizona for a while, my son was born there and I still have strong ties to that state. He’s a very brave man who stands alone most of the time. I pray that God will watch over him.

Still not nearly enough...what his competitors raise is irrelevant. Soros has already said her would spend $10 million to defeat Arpaio with "super PAC" ads. $1 million is NOT going to cut it. There are already "3rd party" running against him which cannot be accounted for by Penzone or Stauffer's funds. If you can, send Joe's PAC anything you can. If we lose him in Nov. we are in BIG trouble. I do NOT trust Romney, nor Bohner, not McConnell. But Joe has shown he will consistently refuse to back down from the fight.

Good man he is.

And local talk radio used to have the Sheriff on as a special guest, now the same people make fun of him.

The local powers that be want him gone.

The Mormons took out Russell Pearce and now want Joe gone, so they can increase their "outreach" to illegals. But Arpaio is WAY too important to America for us to let the Mesa and Gilbert LDS take him out. So we MUST support him.

Arpaio has $4.1 million on hand. The sheriff will likely pad that with a few more millions $$ before November. :-)

“Of the money that he’s brought in, however, Arpaio has already spent a big chunk of it, more than $2.7 million, most of it on fundraising. That leaves just $4.1 million in the bank as the campaign season heats up.”

Is Sheriff Joe grooming any kind of bench? Though I support him 100% he is getting on in years and someone will need to keep up the fight.
