If you add from the bottom up for Obama or the top down for Romney, the one state they both need is New Hampshire to cross the 270 electoral vote finish line. Obama doesn't need a single state above it. Romney doesn't need a single state below it.

Of course, if the election is a blow-out either way, nobody will need New Hampshire either way. But if it is as razor-thin as some expect, New Hampshire's four electoral votes is the difference between victory and defeat.

We need more of electoral rational analysis and less rhetoric on these threads.

Agree about the rational analysis...That analysis must be based on facts....Have had a difficult time finding materials...

The chart on WIkipedia has the best chart found so far, but the comments lean a bit.

We really do need a longtime thread with either news articles, polls or personal observation to support our candidates and know how to help those in need.

Let's strive for the largest numbers of R seats. If we don't support we can't complain.

IIRC, Bush needed a narrow win for the 4 electoral votes in NH in 2000 to win the presidency. But since he got only 271 electoral votes that year, you could make the argument that every state he carried was decisive.
