TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Gov. Rick Scott now says Florida will do nothing to comply with President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and will not expand its Medicaid program. The announcement is a marked changed after the governor recently said he would follow the law if it were upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Florida is not going to implement Obamacare. We are not going to expand Medicaid and we're not going to implement exchanges," Scott's spokesman Lane Wright told The Associated Press on Saturday. Wright stressed that the governor would work to make sure the law is repealed.

Three. Jindal already said LA's not participating.
Four - Kansas, LA, FL, and Wisconsin. Those are just the ones I saw in the Hot Air article. I’m thinking they won’t be alone. Mass opting out is the only option they have at this point if they want their states to stay solvent.
The people will rise up and kill Obamacare. But I am glad to see Scott assert state’s rights in this way.
As I have posted on other threads: The real test for Obamacare is not the Supreme Court or even state action. The REAL test will come once they start setting up death panels. How the panelists will be chosen and what they will base their life-or-death decisions on is shrouded in as much mystery as the birthplace of the Glorious Leader. How will people react to all of this? Could get UGLY!
Secession - the final solution to these problems
Neither will Chris.
You can go **** yourself, Odongo.
Since Obama chooses not to defend or enforce existing laws, why should anyone else?
good. but don’t kid yourself. resistance to this liberty stealing monstrosity is now on the backs of the people. i’m preparing my own defenses. no politician or “judge” can be trusted to stop obamacare at this point.
And this is how revolutions begin.
PS I suopprt the Governor.
The Feds will crucify a state governer to make the others get in line.
I am now glad that I voted for this guy! I can’t say that at time of election I was thrilled with it, but Governor Scott has been proving himself to be pretty even handed. He at least shows he has a backbone!
Federalism to the rescue!
I’ll be VERY surprised if the states of the deep South don’t all join this defiance. We live in interesting times....
(BTW, LA, Kansas, FL and Wisconsin have all said “No, thanks” - so far.) May it continue and gain momentum!!
Mine were all tragically lost in my boating accident that is why I need to buy some more now.
“Waiting for Gov. Perry to make the same decision. Texas can stand a long time without the federal government.”

Texas would be hugely important. Where are Oklahoma and Alabama, not to mention Arizona?
Here in Missouri, THEY elected a trial lawyer POS as governor, so although he’s grumbled about thieving CommieCare, I don’t expect much from his corrupt ass.
“Since Obama chooses not to defend or enforce existing laws, why should anyone else?”

Excellent foundational point.
Remember when we used to shudder at the prospect of a Consitutional Convention? Now that ALL THREE branches of the federal government have shat upon that noble Document, its all in for outright citizen-led defiance.
Comence firing. Fire at will.
Along with Governor Jan Brewer, Rick Scott is a contender in the FU Eric Holder, FU Hussein Obama, FU Washington DC sweepstakes. Hurray for Rick Scott!
Who will be the next GOP governor to show a backbone?
“Who will be the next GOP governor to show a backbone?”
I hope that it will be McKenna here in WA....If he wins of course. I e-mailed his campaign and asked if he’s going to show the same guts as Walker did in WI....Haven’t heard back.
Jindal in LA said he won’t follow the law. Great, now how about AZ, TX, VA. GA and a few others nullify the law.
I don't understand the mechanism but the more states (could be up to 24) that refuse to implement this new expanded 0-Care style Medicaid the more difficult it becomes for the remaining liberal states to continue with this farce. It becomes financially impossible for remaining liberal run states to continue
This could be the Achilles heal of 0-Care and it just might be Justice Roberts' poison pill to kill 0-Care
