Sad...if that was a battalion commander that meant an officer w a rank of Lieutenant Colonel with many years of service
There are lots of plausible explanations....drugs,family problems,a "Major Hassan" type of thing, psychiatric trauma (PTSD) and your suggestion just being several of them.
Society is going to hell.
Prayers for this Commander and the family members undergoing this loss.
Go back to watching the X-Factor, the Military doesn't need your support or concern.
Amen.
I guess he went berserk before he heard about the Stolen Valor ruling.
So what if he was tossed out. He could have just lied about it.
Yea, thank God is wasn’t a low life enlisted man.
Eight years service, facing dishonorable discharge makes this another workplace killing. That’s not hard to believe given how many disturbed individuals chose to go out this way, taking the boss or others with him.

Lt. Col. Roy L. Tisdale died immediately after being struck by a bullet fired from the gun of one of his own soldiers, Fort Bragg officials said this morning.
***People are flipping out all over. Cannibalism, psychotic episodes. Just yesterday in my city,.....***
And three days ago a US Supreme Court Justice declared Obamacare constituional.

When you have the leadership of the military using the armed forces to install the radical Islamic enemy into power within the US government and throughout the world, that might be a tad confusing to US soldiers.
Political correctness is immoral, dishonest, dishonorable and disloyal at it’s core. It fosters tribal divisions and scapegoats. The leadership of this country gives the impression they are playing around with soldier’s lives and well being in a sadistic anti-American horror movie.
According to p.c. this is no more than a workplace accident. Human life is an evolutionary accident.
I hope that I am “mis-reading” your attempt at humor, which I feel is both unwanted and unwarranted.
Many of our troops have faced multiple deployments (in some cases 8-9 over the years), and are suffering tremendously because of it.
PTSD is under-reported or mis-diagnosed, family break-ups, the combat loss of close friends and even family members, DUIs and unforeseen flashes of violence due to the ongoing and unproductive wars the US is waging, all of these things add up over time and have had a negative effect on a lot who have served.
I am a retired career NCO in the US Army and the proud parent of an outstanding officer in the Army Reserves who has multiple deployments under his belt. He has seen the negative results of these missions overseas, up close and personal, and I can only hope that he, or others, will NOT become victims like this due to this society’s lack of concern and commitment to our troops.
If it turns out I am mis-reading your intentions, please accept my humble apology, I needed to get it off of my chest when I saw your cartoon.
*off my soapbox*
The culture of the armed forces is becoming confused, watered-down, muddled. The pressure of high standards, conformity and discipline can be managed if the culture is unified from top to bottom, and everyone recognizes it.
Now the armed forces culture is being changed, not only will lower standards need to be accepted, but many "diverse" parts will now not fit together, at least under the previous high pressure and discipline culture of the US Armed Forces. it will, in extremes, lead to more cases like this one.
