but we have brilliant minds here - with the benefit if hindsight - that want us to believe THEY knew all along
someone even went so far as to blame reagan
I’ve never heard Rush as depressed as he sounded yesterday.
He’s a little better today, but not much.
It’s tempting to waste a lot of time trying to figure out John Roberts.
Various theories: He was threatened or bribed; something about his adopted children. He is taking medication that affects his brain.
Well, something affected his brain. This is the most convoluted stupid illegal ruling ever.
Wow. We don’t have a judicial system anymore. It sounds like it is an activist wing of the executive branch. We are in a whole lot of mess the way Rush described it. Roberts went on his own and re-wrote to law. And even the liberals he sided with dissented. What an idiot. He said it is a tax the Individual mandate, but dems don’t want it to be a tax so they are still saying it is not a tax. You can’t make this stuff up. We are living some bad movie.
Thank you. I actually laughed out loud at your post. Not just lol but really lol.
Some much needed cheering up.
Well, Drudge has been all over the medication for Roberts’ condition but I haven’t seen much about it anywhere else.
Maybe someone could look into the effect on the brain of epilepsy or the meds for it.
here in Phoenix, local radidio is an hour behind real time for Rush...I just listened to the 1st hour
Rush wants to kick Robets’ ass...........cool
slept late
please forgive Advertising Guy bein late
Epstein’s mother
Wow...I was just listening to Megyn on FOX and she had the former CBO fellow (name escapes me at the moment) and he explained how profoundly complex it will be to carry out this law ... the amount of information-sharing between the IRS, Homeland Security, states, HHS and several more is mind-boggling. To say nothing of frightening.
We thought Roberts was conservative at the time of his appointment ....
I think Romney will pick good judges. They may not be quite as conservative as we would like but they’ll be a heck of a lot better than anyone Obama would pick.
I used to be happy that some of our conservative judges like Roberts and Alito were fairly young.
Now, I’m kinda wanting to take advantage of the new business opportunity posted earlier here.
That's definitely true for Republican presidents, but I don't recall any major defections by leftist judges to join with conservatives on the court on major decisions, at least not in the past few decades.
I think there are two major problems for conservatives:
1. Many Republicans still have the notion that a president should be able to put whoever they choose on the Supreme Court. We have never "Borked" a Dim nominee, but I can remember several Republican nominees that were withdrawn after leftist protests: Haynesworth, Carswell, Ginsburg (a man), and then Bork was voted down.
I might not be remembering all of them, but I do know Orin Hatch has bragged about how he got with Slick Willie to come with a fine nominee named Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Because of the above, many of the most conservative potential nominees are never even nominated. We cull the best at the outset. The Dims don't.
2. Not all Republican presidents intended to nominate strict constructionist judges. Both Bushes put a liberal on the court, Souter and Roberts. Both were unknowns and the party just trusted the Bush president to nominate a conservative. Dims always seem to put a true leftist on the court. And Nixon and Ford were not conservatives on many issues, just as the Bushes were not conservative on many issues.
We all sang the praises of the Roberts nomination.
If you want to go to the wayback machine, you’ll find everyone exulting because he didn’t go with the awful Harriet Miers. Now we’re all pining for Harriet.
Not me. I wanted Janice Rogers Brown, or as a second choice Miguel Rodriguez
BTW, Bush really screwed over Rodriguez by refusing to defend or fight for him after nominating him for an appellate court post. Of course, Bush had a pattern of putting people out there and then letting them twist in the wind.
Rush - yesterday’s decision was a clear signal there’s no mechanism for liberty and freedom to be protected/upheld. Bingo - that’s why it was so disgusting.
lol, Rush isn’t interested in IQ bonus points. (you don’t need them, Rush)
Miers was W's second nominee and Alito was nominated after the uproar caused Miers to withdraw.
Roberts was W's first nominee and few know much about him. They just trusted Bush to nominate a strict constructionist.
Elections have consequences.
We chose a Black Liberation Socialist over a weak Pubbie.
Rush is fired up. Right on.
Yeah good point future forecasting is not yet a science.
I don’t think Rush gets depressed that often IMHO he’s more pissed of than anything else.
To think that a sitting justice nominated by GW would pull this crap, reinvent a case, is confounding at best.
Yeah, but with Dems it is always just a matter of when and how much...
Ye gads...this apologist needs to step away from the bong...
