Roberts did not just create some new vast taxing authority. He said it's always existed under the Constitution and his job is to enforce the Constitution, not change the tax laws.
"Members of this Court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments. Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices."

With due respect, Antonin Scalia and Mark Levin disagree with you, and agree with me.

“...It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

As I see it, this is the problem right here. An ill-informed populace CHOSE to elect an altogether unqualified, unvetted individual who happens to have anti-American tendencies.

We are surrounded by those who no longer know, understand and aspire to be what it means to be an American. Does anyone else find himself stepping back and shaking his head in wonder at the idea that someone like Barack Obama could get elected? This notion was set off anew in my head the other day when I saw the video of the crowd of Muslims pelting a small group of Christians who were demonstrating in the Detroit area—and the police did nothing!

In the bible, it took very little time (about 2 generations - 40 years) for Israel to completely stray from the path God had laid out for them. They did not maintain their “walk of faith” with God, did not pass down the legacy promised to them by God. Instead they sought to become like the nations around them.

Are we any different here in America?

Yes. At the SAME time, however, he has created a new area to be taxed that did not exist before this decision. This tax does not fall into the previously known taxable areas. There is no provision in the constitution for taxing INACTIVITY.

He rewrote this law on the bench. What was called a mandate in the bill was objectionable to him SO HE RENAMED the mandate and now calls it a tax. The problem with this is- THAT IS NOT WHAT WAS IN THE BILL.

Whether or not we "win" in November, whether or not we repeal this monster, the court's finding stands and there is now an entire new way to tax citizens that DID NOT EXIST. Is this an excise tax? Is this income tax? No- it's an inactivity tax.

Politicians will come and go, elections will be won and lost. The inactivity tax will be with us- and various clever legislators will find ways to use it against we, the people.

So- while it's all well and good for Roberts to put it back in our laps- that was not his job. The instant he found the problems with the commerce clause in the law it was time to stop. Period. Did he? NOOOOOOOoooooo he did not. He contorted himself - he found a way to call this airplane a boat. Never mind that it is a boat never put on the water until now. Never mind that it looks exactly like an airplane. The people will believe it's a boat because I am a learned scholar.

I no longer see SCOTUS as a part of the “checks and balances” that protected our Republic. They are but rubber stamps with multiple blatant examples. Yes we have “no standing” nor anything else worth while. Stepping back before going vulgar.

Sounds to me like Roberts is another one of those socialists that have bought into the notion that we're a democracy. This depite the fact that the word 'guarantee' appears exactly once in the U.S. Constitution.
