You mean big government Scalia? How did he vote on Kelo? Give me five Thomases any day. He’s the only one who is consistently in favor of the Constitution and American liberty.

“I never mistook Roberts for a conservative.

He’s what he has always been: An inside the beltway Republican political hack lawyer.”

Interesting. I had my doubts about him when he was nominated, partly because I never believed that W would actually nominate a real conservative to the SC.

So what do you think of Alito?

“He did this because the political calculation was that it would hurt Obama and help Romney. I completely convinced of that.”

Well EV, that’s why it is so critical that we elect Romney...to make sure we have a chance of putting a few more moral, honest, conservative, pro-original intent SCOTUS justices on the bench, men & women who have the utmost respect for the institution and for the Republic /s

There are legit slams, then there are just opportunists.

Finding a sentence on a website and then applying a completely stunning cave by Roberts in hindsight as a slam on Romney is opportunist and cheap.

“As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts...

Yeah, yeah. Until he's elected. Then he'll nominate any liberal he wants. Not that Roberts is such a prize. I've just learned to never believe ANY politician. They'll say ANYTHING to get elected and lie til their tongues turn black and fall out, then they'll lie in sign language.

It's still astounding to me that a liberal like Romney is the Republican nominee. Just as well have Reid or Pelosi. A difference that makes no difference, IS no difference.

I've seen threads around here to day that are almost hero worship of Romney.

Pretty ironic..

I keep saying and most here know, Romney is a wild card(and a lib),

There is no telling exactly what he would do as POTUS.

Very deceptive editing...

The full quote:

“As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito...”

Until the “Arizona Immigration” ruling last week, I thought Roberts was a Conservative.

And so did most of the people who post at Free Republic.

Regardless of today’s ruling, Roberts is far from being a liberal.

In one week, Roberts has told Arizona it can't secure its own borders, and he's told every American that the government can tax them for not buying an expensive product in the private sector that the government mandates they buy. I'd say Roberts is in an express shuttle, zooming his way to Liberal Land faster than you can say David Souter.

he needs to articulate a plan of HOW he is going to repeal it.

Otherwise, his words are just meaningless hot air to me.

Well darn, you should have posted this first, I guess. Then you could have cut off the excerpt wherever you wanted.

Personally, I wanted to highlight the fact that Romney is still touting how much he loves the man who just sold our country, and our posterity, down the river.

“It’s still there this evening.”

Uh oh, who lost the scrub brush? How hard is it to scrawl the name Alito over the name Roberts?

I predict Romney would nominate a liberal judge to the Supreme Court in order to Smooth Over liberals anger over losing the 2012 election. Obama is going to further divide the country by tying up the election results for months and create tremendous acrimony on both sides.....

Come on folks; everyone needs to chill out. We’re in a war for our very Republic. This is no time to start, or continue, turning on each other. Now EV, you and young Mr. Weinstein both know that was on Mitt’s website before yesterday. And, BEFORE THIS WEEK, EVERYONE OF US WOULD HAVE SAID THE SAME THING. Let’s be fair. We don’t have to play the game like Ed Schultz, Al Sharpton, Chris Matthews and Nancy Pelosi. We’re “Right” and we don’t have to stoop to unseemly slander tactics because we have no truth to stand on, like the Left-Wing radicals do.
I did not vote for Romney in the TX Primary even though he was already the “presumptive” nominee. I voted for Newt. But, he is the only hope we have right now for trying to “right” this ol’ Ship of State that has made a hard turn left.
Shame on you EV....... Shame on all of you!!!

We should be so lucky. Romney made a promise. His lips moved. Therefore, he lied. Mitt would nominate judges like Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and Alito.

Let me translate this lie into English.

A nominee who is dependably favorable to the "constitutionality" of the Obozocare tax disguised as a penalty, and therefore a liar just like Myth Romney. A Roberts-like justice would be dependable in supporting National Romneycare (essentially Obozocare with a more "Republican" name). Feel the excitement!!!

A Scalia-like justice, although having the voting record of an Elena Kagan and therefore we "right wing extremists" with a copy of the constitution and some reading lessons may quibble in ways that are just incomprehensible to the money-hungry and totally unprincipled GOP-E. The likeness to Scalia will be in his writing style: therefore, though a militant leftist, this judge will add entertainment value for the enemies of the Republic.

A Thomas-like justice would be Eric Holder because both are African-American.

An Alito-like justice would be a David "Swish" Souter type, regardless of lifestyle preferences" because the leftist appointed would be from the Northeast.

As Myth will undoubtedly state in response to the explosion of the justifiably angry base over such appointments, who knew that they cared about anything but protecting Muffie's trust fund and her "right" to abortion on demand and her "right" to marry Gertrude and Bruce simultaneously since that is her "preference."

Conservatives or pro-life Christians for Romney OR Obozo most resembles Jews for Hitler or Blacks for Bull Connor.

I seem to remember song lyrics to the effect: "If you are not near the one you love, love the one you're with." That's a prescription for justifying adultery. The judicial equivalent is betraying the oath one has necessarily taken to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies domestic and foreign. Like marital fidelity, it is a matter of honor.

Just the following GOP nominees to SCOTUS demnstrated with regularity their infidelity to their oaths: Earl Warren, William Brennan, Potter Stewart; Herod Blackmun; Lewis Powell; John Paul Stevens; Sandra Day Obortionist; Sandra Day O'Kennedy; David "Swish" Souter, and now Sandra Day O'Roberts. And, as knowledgeable court watchers well know, That is not a complete list of just Republican treasonweasels. Then there are such Demonrats as Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, DoGood Marshall, William O. Douglas, and soooo many others.

Wrong. I wouldn't. And didn't.

Shame on you EV....... Shame on all of you!!!

Maybe you should look in the mirror, considering your screen name, and the fact that Mitt Romney is a democrat.
