Or they could pass a law that anyone spending less than “X” on brocolli in a year will pay three times the Obamacare tax. They can regulate any behavior they want by adding a massive “tax” for those who don’t comply.

It seems like they already do tax our behaviors, but they go back door and do it by exemptions. For instance people who have no children pay more tax than people who have children as deductions. This is a round about way of taxing the behavior of remaining childless. All the exemptions are taxes based on not engaging in the exempted behaviors. This makes way for special laws which apply to particular people or groups. The income tax must give way to something better and non intrusive to our private lives.

For that matter, today's ruling paves the way for Milton Miteybad's pet policy proposal...the Federal Liberal Advocacy Income Levy Surtax, or FLAILS, for short. Vote for Democrats, and you are deemed to have volunteered for an additional 50% income surtax on top of your existing rate. Citizens who vote for Democrats in federal elections who are in the 28% bracket will have their marginal tax rate increased to 78%, for example.

This could be easily implemented using currently available technology, and it would offer the added bonus of compelling the proponents of liberalism to, at long last, start paying the bill they courageously foist on the rest of us.

This next session of Congress may be the one to take it up, since today's ruling is going to make incumbent Democrats a species nearing extinction on November 6. With favorable election results in November, it may be possible to pass this with a veto-proof majority as early as this time next year.

Obviously, if the federal government can extract a tax from you for the act of not buying insurance, then we can make voting for Democrats a taxable event. After all...anything can now be construed as a taxable event. Even breathing is without health insurance is now taxable.

FLAILS can now become a reality. Let's make it happen. ;-)
