I don't agree with you on either the "no limitation on tax" issue or the roberts evil genius issue. But you make good arguments for your positions.

This clause:

No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State.

Is a limitation

I still think you are wrong about the tax issue and hope you are right about the roberts decision.

Well yes there are a few exceptions in the Constitution about what Congress cannot tax, but those are few and explicitly spelled out.

The Roberts decision, like anything, is a mixed bag. It would have been much better for Obamacare to go down in flames.

However, now that Congress' two favorite toys have been taken away and they're limited to taxation -- I'm really starting to like that concept.

Talking to a very liberal friend tonight (he gets away with it due to longevity) even he likes the idea of Congress being restricted to taxing powers and the toys being taken away.

There is hope. But this decision is what it is -- we have to live with it so we have to take lemons and make lemonade out of it.

With any luck, the Tea Parties have just gotten an infusion of new life.
