GOP governors vow to ignore Obamacare
Washington Examiner ^ | June 28, 2012

Republican governors are planning to ignore the Supreme Court's decision Thursday to uphold Obamacare hoping that the issue will drive voters to dump President Obama in favor of Mitt Romney who has vowed to kill the Affordable Care Act.

After the decision, the Republican Governors Association said that nothing should be done by the states until after the election, a clear signal that they believe a GOP president, House and Senate will kill the health care reform pushed through by Democrats and opposed by Republicans.

RGA Chairman Bob McDonnell said, "Today's ruling crystallizes all that's at stake in November's election. The only way to stop Barack Obama's budget-busting health care takeover is by electing a new president. Barack Obama's health care takeover encapsulates his presidency: Obamacare increases taxes, grows the size of government and puts bureaucrats over patients while doing nothing to improve the economy."

The Virginia governor, who is on Mitt Romney's list of potential vice presidential candidates, added, "By replacing Barack Obama with Mitt Romney, we will not only stop the federal government's healthcare takeover, but will also take a giant step towards a full economic recovery."

Other governors have urged a similar strategy. Scott Walker, the newly re-elected Wisconsin governor, said that he won't put into place any elements of Obamacare until after the election. Other governors are taking a similar position.

Perhaps the WRONG tact.

They SHOULD put into effect and blame the consequences on the author - or adopt statutes of Nullification and make a REAL political issue of it.

The GOP is telling all of us to calm down. Then after obama is re-elected or Romney is elected and nothing changes, they’ll tell us all to shut up.

I don’t hold my breath on anything a republican says.

Hey, I’m used to government healthcare. I go to the VA. The rest of you ain’t gonna’ like it.

We have a republican governor and both state houses. Our legislature already passed something saying we are opting out. This thing will sink under its own weight.

I feel the same way I did back when they attacked and took Elian Gonzalez. At what point does it stop? How far do they have to push statism before the frog jumps?

Received a robo call from the Virginia Governor (am in the South but not a Virginian). Asked for my help. I hung up the phone at the point where a decision had to be made to help or not. Today was not the day to place that call by the Governor. Today am in prayer.

Instead of ignoring lust Obamacare, they should ignore the USSC.

Governor Jan Brewer tried to pass a bill allowing the State to do what the Feds won't do. Look what the SCOTUS told her to do with SB1070! Every state will be FORCED to do what the Feds tell 'em, as far as I can see.

I understand that the Republican Governors are upset right now but I can see Obama cutting federal money to the states that ignore Obamacare. I think that is 100 percent fine as long as these Governors can run their states without Federal Funds. This is the tactic that the federal government used to make seat belt laws and (I think) DUI laws.

Wait! What's that sound?!

Oh, it's just another incoming Obama Executive Order.

And the bottom line is Medicaid mis-managed care rackets won't be able to make the numbers work without the vastly expanded rolls. They will raise and raise premiums until they can no more and then they will fail. It will definitely happen in Texas should it ever get that far. Those sinking money in those stocks need to think again.

The focus now is to gain control of the senate and maintain house numbers at minimum, and this will all be moot.

I go to the VA all the time and I think that do an incredible job...At least the one in Baltimore is great...I don’t particularly like the drive since I live in Annapolis but other than that it is perfect. People 65 and above are all on “Obamacare” already....it is just not called that.
