And that's the upshot of this matter. The Commerce Clause has been eviscerated by this ruling. Now, the discussion is about a tax... on potentially anyone... in a recession..

So? All the power lost under the Commerce Clause was given right back to Congress as the power to punish with taxation. And more. Now it doesn’t even have to be about commerce... ANYTHING coercive can now be enforced by taxation. And you don’t even have to say it’s a tax and pay a political price, because the Supreme Court will deem it a tax after you’ve passed it. Do you really think the people who ignore politics, representing most of the swing vote, will know the Court is calling this a tax? The depth of their knowledge about this issue will be the headline: “Supreme Court Declares Obamacare Constitutional”.
