Medical Examiner: Causeway Cannibal Not High On Bath Salts [Media speculation FAIL]
CBS MIAMI ^ | 6/27/12

Posted on 06/27/2012 3:22:04 PM PDT by SoFloFreeper

Rudy Eugene, the Causeway Cannibal who ate the face off a homeless man he attacked along the MacArthur Causeway, was apparently not high on bath salts or any other exotic street drug at the time of the attack, according to a report released Wednesday by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner.

The news leaves law enforcement officials wondering what drove Eugene to strip off his clothes, attack homeless man Ronald Poppo, and chew off pieces of flesh from Poppo’s face.

Oh, how rich....the know-it-all Miami media was soooooo certain they knew it was bath salts....they inundated readers, listeners and viewers for weeks with garbage about this latest drug craze....and now they are apparently wrong....

I said on another thread at the time demon possession COULD be a possibility....

Having worked for 20+ years in a large hospital’s ER I can personally attest to the fact that schizophrenics, for example, can sometimes do the most breathtakingly strange, unfathomable and violent things while under the influence of nothing but their own disordered brain chemistry.

Wow. So this means a “relatively” normal kid went utterly, horribly mad in a relatively short period of time.

Did they test for Datura Stramonium or Pufferfish toxin? He’s Haitian. His own sister has made allusions that make this a less unreasonable scenario.

There is such thing as just plain evil. But liberals don’t like to admit it.

Some people are just totally given over to a depraved mind. There is no other reason.

He was 31. Isn't that a little late to first show symptoms?

The only drug in his system was pot.

Yes,stimulants like PCP,meth and coke can be responsible for such events,as can alcohol. But don't underestimate the power of Mother Nature herself to cause brain disorders so horrendous that their consequences can be all but unimaginable.

Do a search on the term “Excited Delirium”...

Excited delirium is characterized by tachycardia, hyperthermia (people remove clothing and are often naked), super human strength, paranoia, hallucinations, hyper aggressiveness, disorientation, incoherent speech and shouting...

Brought on by heavy use of stimulant drugs like cocaine, PCP, methamphetamine, etc...

Excited delirium is a possibility in many of these cases...

The condition is also characterized by sudden respiratory and cardiac arrest...

Often about the same time as they are wrestled into submission or tazered by police trying to take them into custody...

First of all,do we know that this was his first display of abnormal behavior? I didn't read the whole article but the fact that he was homeless strongly suggests pre-existing psychiatric/drug/alcohol problems. The overwhelming majority of the chronically homeless qualify under at least one of those labels.

The “face-eater” guy was from Haiti originally. Perhaps that’s part of the explanation for his behavior?

I don’t think the attacker was homeless. The victim was.

No. I knew someone in his mid 30s who began showing symptoms.
