I’m an older Texan and I know that in the 1960s California roads were the toast of the nation.

California used to spend a lot on infrastructure, before it’s wealth was diverted to unions and welfare.

Could be, I just remember that our loneliest RM or FM roads rivaled the best that neighboring states had to offer.
