I've always heard that the VP serves as a tie breaker in the senate and does little else. I don't think that was any different with Nixon. In fact, I seem to recall that Nixon essentially shunned Agnew.

It would be good to know what the truth is. I was taught the VP did the grunt work for the CIC, while the CIC took all the credit. There’s nothing saying I wasn’t lied to, though. I trusted my teacher because he was my neighbor’s son and didn’t expect him to lie.
