In the Executive Order I have issued today, I find that the risk of nuclear proliferation created by the accumulation in the Russian Federation of a large volume of weapons-usable fissile material continues to constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. I therefore declared a national emergency to address this threat and to continue the blocking of all property and interests in property of the Government of the Russian Federation directly related to the implementation of the HEU Agreements.

Everything is related to everything else. Purest speculation: Could this be payment be an inducement for Russia to back down on Syria and let the US get Assad out and the Muslim Brotherhood in?

And to think I bought an additional 2000 rounds of ammo yesterday. If I had known this was coming I would have tripled my purchase. My son once said that I had enough ammo to start a small war - I told him no, just enough to finish one!

Obama Extends Order to Protect Russian Assets

WASHINGTON (CN) - President Barack Obama extended an executive order protecting the assets of the Russian Federation used in a program to stabilize the security of nuclear material. The provisions are extended for a year.
The original order was signed by former President Bill Clinton in 2000 to protect payments the U.S. made to the Russian Federation under the Agreement Between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Russian Federation Concerning the Disposition of Highly Enriched Uranium Extracted from Nuclear Weapons, commonly called the HEU Agreements.
Under the HEU agreements, the U.S. pays the Russian Federation to convert the nearly 500 metric tons of highly enriched uranium left in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union into low-enriched uranium for use as a fuel in commercial nuclear reactors.
According to USEC Inc., the firm that converts the weapons grade uranium, up to ten percent of the electricity produced in the United States since its Megatons to Megawatts program was established, has been generated from the Russian uranium.
The program is scheduled to end in 2013 by which time USEC says the equivalent of 20,000 Russian nuclear warheads will have been recycled into nuclear fuel.

I don’t get it. We always knew the Russians had nukes. And we agreed to get rid of ours, knowing they were never going to get rid of theirs.

So what’s this now? A joke? Obama jumping the gun on martial law, realizing he can’t foment the civil war he’s been aiming for?

If Obama’s lips are moving he’s lying. If there’s something signed, it’s probably wrong. So what’s this latest stunt?
