Maurice Sendak Said Killing Bush Would Have Been 'Wonderful'
Maurice Sendak may have been even wilder than his "wild things."
In one of the children's book author's last interviews before he died of a stroke in May, Sendak said he thought about trying to assassinate former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
"Bush was president, I thought, 'Be brave. Tie a bomb to your shirt. Insist on going to the White House. And I want to have a big hug with the vice president, definitely. And his wife, and the president, and his wife, and anybody else that can fit into the love hug,'" Sendak told The Comics Journal's founder Gary Groth in an interview that will be published in the magazine's next edition.
"And then we'll blow ourselves up, and I'd be a hero," Sendak continued.
"It would have been a very brave and wonderful thing," said Sendak, who wrote the whimsical "Where the Wild Things Are."
Sendak has had his share of unorthodox comments, although none perhaps as violent as pondering a presidential assassination.
He called former GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich "an idiot of great renown."
"There is something so hopelessly gross and vile about him that it's hard to take him seriously," Sendak told comedian Stephen Colbert in January.
And in 2008, shortly after his 80 th birthday, Sendak told the New York Times, "I hate people," adding that he would rather spend time with his dog Herman.

You may have heard that he is known among the gay community in Chicago due to an “alleged” membership at Man’s Country, a gay bath house. Yuck. Too bad obama was never vetted.

I see, I didn’t know he was dead, well he is dead ex President is still living.
I think he got his wish on himself then. Still, wishing death on someone you disagree is just evil.
I will use your words friend - {But maybe somebody knows more about the law — the line (if any) between actual threats and wishing that something had happened.}
Law experts will know this better.
Merci.
Who cares dead nutjob....How’s Lucifer and Dead Ted you POS......

Well, there you go
A fantasy story about anger without much of a real moral. On Easter? What a travesty.
If the Wikipedia is half right, sounds like he grew up in a dysfunctional extended family, always at each others’ throats figuratively speaking. And he forever bore a grudge. It would turn any ordinary liberal into a raving moonbat.
Just another glimpse into the sick and demented mind of a lib.
I suspect that his life was a complete waste of time.... and pointless in every way.
If I ever come across any of his jibberish writings, I'll burn them....then I'll be the hero..
Maybe some of this is just senile dementia. And maybe some of it is stupid lib talk.
It’s part of willingly staying inside of the radical left echo chamber. Just give a listen to Ed Schultz, or even Mike Malloy, really off the deep end.
I’ve never read anything by Sendak, so I guess I don’t mourn his passing much. I would bet that a very large percentage of liberal “artist-writers,” like Sendak, love humanity but hate people. Just another example of a thoroughly unhinged liberal.
Just another stab at Christianity by The One.
It apparently sucked to be him. It was like all the worst stereotypes about the Jewish dysfunctional family all tossed together. What light did he ever get as a hint there was a better existence to be had than the misery he had wallowed in, is an unknown quantity. It would have needed only a moment to accept the grace of God, if he did not adamantly refuse it to the end.
The grand illusion is America's government works for the people who are the citizens of America. A Grand Illusion is something which does not exist. Our government now utilizes selective enforcement of our laws thus what was once is no longer.
This is your Easter egg: to out-anger those who lunged at you in wrath.
Yup. This story explains a lot of things. And it’s cryingly sad.
To make this simple ... the person having made the statement is dead. Believe it a stroke in May and death due to natural causes.

I see, law has been replace for better bidding of who is whom...then law itself is dead.
I hope things will change, this is like asking fiance to give up a wedding ring after break up. Good luck.
C’est comme demander fiancé à abandonner une bague de mariage se brise. LOL
Merci.
Our family went to a really nice exhibition of Sendak’s work 8 years ago, with kid friendly activities and such. You would never guess that such hate and bitterness lurked in that man’s head.
While he was obviously no saint and a lefty all his life, I assume that he got nastier and more viciously outspoken in advanced age. I know my Dad said horrible things in the last 10 years of his life that he did not say in his prime. Such lewdness, racism, anger and jealousy came out, as I had never heard before. It went along with a decline in ability to think due to congestive heart failure. If you judged him only by the rants of his later years, you would have missed his really important contributions to the world as a father, a builder, a naval officer, etc.
I’m going to assume Sendak’s mind was in steep decline.

I was joking in different way. Thank you for information.
Merci

Or two face person, raging like a maniac....who knows, God will be judge.
Merci.
It is against the law for an American to say that.
