Since we don't need about 95% of the rural post offices ~ and haven't since i did the definitive study on the matter way back in 1975 ~ let's just say i'm as informed as i need to be on this one.

Any action short of elimination and the replacement of local delivery with a rural route carrier stopping at an NCDBU is a subsidy!

The PMG broke and bent to the will of Senators who continue to be deluded in believing those offices are needed.

The worst state in the union for little bity useless post offices is Kentucky ~ and the Senate minority leader is from there. He's supposed to be educable.

Oh, and what choice did he have?

The Senators don't think they're needed -- they just don't want to hear complaints from constituents about the local Post Office closing down. The same goes for the processing plants.

Buffalo's processing plant was slated for closure. Do you think for a minute that Congress-critters Higgins (D) and Hochul (D), let alone Senator Schumer (D) were going to let 700 union jobs in Buffalo just go away? Your criticisms should be aimed at Congress.
