Exactly.
The Catholic Church is, at it’s heart and soul, liberal and socialist. Their “social justice” doctrine fits hand-and-glove into post-60’s Democratic politics.
They’re just having a little spat because they’re being told what to do, and “no one” tells The Church what to do.... because they’re “The Church.”
——The Catholic Church is, at its heart and soul, liberal and socialist.-—
I can see how you could draw that conclusion from observing the USCCB. But authority begins with the bishop, and ends with the Vatican.
The Church has criticized communism and socialism in the harshest terms, when teaching authoritatively.
Sample from Pope Leo XIII:
We speak of that sect of men who, under various and almost barbarous names, are called socialists, communists, or nihilists, and who, spread over all the world, and bound together by the closest ties in a wicked confederacy, no longer seek the shelter of secret meetings, but, openly and boldly marching forth in the light of day, strive to bring to a head what they have long been planning - the overthrow of all civil society whatsoever.
Quite a prophetic statement, for 1878.
Dave, please stick to commenting on VMS Macro, finance, and diesels -- unlike this observation, they're right on.
An urban legend perpetuated by the ignorant.
