Not only that but the ATF TOLD the Dealers to go ahead and allow the purchases.

Not only that but the ATF TOLD the Dealers to go ahead and allow the purchases. I recall that the dealers had reported possible "straw" purchases to the ATF, as they were required to, and were instructed to allow the purchases to take place. Some dealers requested authorization in writing.
